Although it may not be a well-written and a cohesive novel, but taste some of his immature work. P.S: the author of this essay is the one that wrote those pieces, let chapter 1 begin.
Will he succeed in writing?
The planet was brought to the brink
of extinction by the ruling and feuding families, seeking power over each
other.
“What else is there?" The
legendary king Avalon, of the Stringham dynasty was heard to say. “money and
power, whether by life or death of the people is the right and legacy of every
Ruler in Archania.”
Yet for all that, to rule a planet
was no easy matter—a job for the god, not a mere man, which Avalon knew himself to be, although the
commoners were taught otherwise. So, in the year 700, Avalon the Demolisher,
chose to divide the Empire into Seven Kingdoms to maintain order and balance in
the world. Or so he hoped. For almost a hundred years, it seemed he had planned
wisely. Wealth and power flowed into the hands of the rulers, and the commoners
suffered lives of helplessness, hopelessness, and deprivation.
The Empire and the Seven Kingdoms
82 years after the creation of the
Seven Kingdoms, in the northern forest of the Silva Empire, in a harsh and
unforgiving village, home to traitors of the Silva Imperial guards, Julius grew
up.
On a mild spring day that would put
hope in the hearts of anyone, Julius went to the bank of the river to as he
usually did. He did not hear the Captain of the Silver Lotus give the order,
"Mr. Patrick, gather all the folk in this village."
It was a small village and Mr.
Patrick reported back swiftly, "All gathered". With a calm face, the
captain ordered, "Burn them into ashes, those bloody vixens."
Julius saw the smoke, he witnessed
the brutal extermination of the whole village. He saw his beloved ones writhing
in agony as the heat of the flames took their lives and their hopes.
There was nothing he could do. Shock
and grief and disbelief numbed his heart, perhaps forever. Without knowing what
he was doing, he abandoned his home and his past. He did not see the steep
slope and fell, crashing and bouncing off bushes and rocks until he lost
consciousness.
Will Julius survive?
He woke up the next day in a dark
cave, he was being treated for severe injuries in a dark cave. "Who are
you?" said Julius said faintly and with a pale face.
"Is this supposed to be
repayment for our generosity, cold brat, eh?" said a woman with two horns
appearing from her forehead. “Asking questions that are none of your business?”
Then her voice softened, "I am quite surprised that you survived this
fall, you must have a strong body."
Fury over helplessness and grief for
his losses became Julius’ constant companion although he felt nothing and
trained himself to leave all emotion behind. As he healed, He found himself
more and more often on a practice field.
The short man noticed him and soon
found a use for Julius’ deep and hidden anger, "Try wielding a sword, we
have lots of targets for training; try to attack them with all your
might." Julius attacked a target with a furious blow.
"That blow came from some dark
feeling, vengeance?" the short man asked. "Not at all." Was
Julian’s measured response.
What did the short man ask of Julius?
Yet he had smashed the chains
wrapped around the target. To test his stamina and strength, the short and
fierce man asked Julius to pull a wagon to the peak of the Helms. Julius did so
without a single drop of sweat or a word of complaint. The short man was
impressed.
“Young brat, what is your goal?”
Julius answered firmly, “To be the
ultimate one under the skies of the seven kingdoms.”
